Strange Call - The Wrong Number

Wrong Number
Many weeks ago I got this strange call. I better blog about it now because it will be sitting in my head all the time. The phone rings. Call displays shows Mr. so and so, and his telephone number. Well in that case, this is not a telemarketing call so I better answer.

'Hello' - I said.
'Hi honey' - he said.
'I think you got a wrong number' - I said.
'Oh, this is not Michelle' - he said.
'No, its not, I think you got a wrong number' - I said.
'Oh I am sorry' - he said.
'That is okay' - I said waiting for him to hang up 'and don't do it again', I thought.
'You have a nice voice' - he said.
'Good bey' - I said and hang up.

I really wanted to say something to him, 'What happened to Michelle, she doesn't have nice voice anymore?'. Or 'Do you want to talk to my husband, he has nice voice too'.

Well in case like that we just have to bite our tongues, as we know this could lead to a trouble. May be he didn't get the wrong number; just phoning randomly to strike a conversation with a vulnerable woman, and then more and more. Scary call that was, all I can say.

  1. Ugh! Leaves a bad taste in the mouth, doesn't it? I loved the responses you would have LIKED to have given, but I think you were wise to bite your tongue, as you say, you have no idea who you are dealing with, and it was probably best not to offer him any further excuse to extend the conversation.

BTW, thank you for all your lovely comments, it made a great start to my day, I really appreciated it (hugs).

  2. Scary, indeed!
«Louis» hopes you don't 'hear' from him again!

«Louis» thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

  3. I really wanted to say something to him, 'What happened to Michelle, she doesn't have nice voice anymore?'.
These lines really proving your wisdom...
    Nice Blogging!!
    Have a Great Time!!

  4. Anna, still more images of Stanford Memorial Church to come, followed by photos of the Rodin collection at Stanford.

The answer to this week's Qu'est-ce que c'est is this is Leland Stanford's crypt. Enlarge the image, look on the right.

  5. Maybe just as scary is that some women would stay on the phone!

  6. That happened to me about 45 years ago. This young man (before we ever knew about caller ID) said hello when I answered, and he asked for so and so, and I said you must have a wrong number and he also said, well you sound like you have a pleasant voice, and I just hung up. Another time, when I answered the caller said, may I speak to your Mother, and I thought who would be calling my Mother at my house and then I realized he meant me, I said well I'm the Mrs. here and he said I thought you were a child. LOL That made my day.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, it just seems to get so busy in the summer months.

  7. Those answers u thought for replies are really good, a nice tip to ladies at home...thanks

And now lets hear your blobbing, lol!
