Mr. President Barack Obama Thank You For Visiting Canada

Mr. President Barack Obama, you probably will never read this thank you letter, but I am sure you can see in people how thankful we Canadians are for your visit to Canada.

The fact that you chose to visit Canada first it means a lot, but the fact that you purchased maple leaf cookies cookies from the local baker it means even more. I actually got goose bumps hearing that on the news. Your risk, I am sure your secret service will get you in trouble later, made our Canadian baker very happy.

Mr. Obama, I watched your presidential race, but watching you being President of United States is even more impressive. Your leadership is beyond my expectations - you are definitely a people person. Your strong focus on the economic crisis and how you handling it so far is on the scale 1 to 10 - I am giving you 8. Sorry I cannot give you 10 just yet, just little too early, but I am sure you have great potential outperform.

It was also nice to watch you and our Prime Minister Mr. Harper getting along so well. You may not have the same views 100%, but I see that both of you have great respect for each other and willing to work together to get us out from the economic crisis.

Mr. Obama, thank you again. And before I conclude this thank you letter, I want to tell you that leadership as yours is needed especially during crisis. If you are good to the people, people will respond positively and will be motivated to work together on the same goal. Like they say, one person can do so much, but together we can do even more.

Enjoy your cookies and good night.

Regards,
Anna

  1. You never know who might read your post, Anna. I wrote an open letter to Obama and a week later got a "contact" message that it had been read by someone in his administration. I figured it was just somebody hoaxing me, but you never know.

  3. Thanks Will. No contact yet from Obama administration, lol, but I am waiting :). These days it is hard to tell the difference between a hoax and the real thing, lol, I guess one big disadvantage of the email/Internet. Anna :)

  4. Hey Anna,

What a delightful letter! I must say that I agree with your rating: 8 is perfect for the time being (it is just too early; we have to wait and see; but so far so good).

People are already hammering on this fine human being, and the man has only started to work now! Have a heart people...put yourself on President Obama's shoes!

Anyway, his visit to the local bakery was quite symbolic (although honest in my opinion) in these troubled economic times.

I am for watching and letting him work...I have a feeling that he won't disappoint!

    Cheers

  6. Hi Max, and thanks. I tried, lol.
You are right so far so good. You know he is. I was for Hilary at the beginning, but now when I see them both in action, I see more honesty in Obama, Hilary seems all for show, but I could be wrong.

Obama's shoes probably wouldn't even fit me, lol, that's how hard it would be for me, lol.

Max I have the same feeling.

My dear friend it is always pleasure to comment on my writings.

    Anna :)

  8. Hi Anna!

    You are most welcome, darling!

"You are right so far so good. You know he is. I was for Hilary at the beginning, but now when I see them both in action, I see more honesty in Obama, Hilary seems all for show, but I could be wrong."

I was for Hillary in the beginning as well, but then she made a few mistakes that made me switch. She is not a bad person, and I think she has the right political intentions; however President Obama is better for the job...that's all.

"Obama's shoes probably wouldn't even fit me, lol, that's how hard it would be for me, lol."

    LOL LOL I hear you!

    Cheers

  9. Thanks Max. I think Obama lost one point from me, lol, I don't like the passed bill for research on embryonic stem cells, the fact that University of Toronto made a discovery or technique to get them from the skin. Oh well, may be he has good intentions, but you know after deliverying life to the world, I have hard time thinking how can someone play with God's invention. I know there are good intentions to cure diseases, but if we all were superhumans, we would need another planet...lol. Thanks Max again for your conversation. Anna :)

  10. Hi Anna!

Well, this is a very hot conversation right now...and since this is the theme of my article, this week...I would love to have you sharing this opinion there.
I also favour adult stem cell, however, if they hadn't started by the embryonic stem cells they would not have reached this discovery would they? Embryonic stem cells don't cure people, adult stem cells do.
Now, there are millions of embryos frozen and about to be thrown out...what should be done? Wouldn't it be preferable to use them for research?

"I know there are good intentions to cure diseases, but if we all were superhumans, we would need another planet...lol. Thanks Max again for your conversation."

LOL...I don't think it is a question of being superhumans, it is a question of improving the lives of those who are suffering and preventing future decay of the body (like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's - terrible diseases). Now, the state must not leave scientists on the loose...otherwise, we may end up with clones walking around - which is not good *nodding*.

    Awesome conversation :D!
